Description:

Mupivate Ointment contains Mupirocin 2% w/w, a topical antibacterial agent effective against Gram-positive bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus aureus (including MRSA).
It is primarily used to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis, and infected eczema.

Warnings & Precautions:

For external use only.

Discontinue if irritation, sensitization, or superinfection occurs.

Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi.

Use with caution in patients with renal impairment (especially with large-area application).

Avoid using other topical agents simultaneously on the same site unless prescribed.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Burning, itching, stinging, or redness at the application site.

Occasional: Dryness, rash, or mild pain.

Rare: Allergic contact dermatitis or systemic hypersensitivity reaction.

Storage:

Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture.
Do not freeze.
Keep the tube tightly closed after use.
