Description

Napro-Tax (Paclitaxel) is a taxane-class chemotherapeutic agent used for treating breast cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, and Kaposi’s sarcoma. It works by stabilizing microtubules, preventing normal cell division, and causing cancer cell death.

Precautions

Use only under oncology supervision.
Premedication with corticosteroids and antihistamines is required to reduce the risk of hypersensitivity reactions.
Regular monitoring of blood counts and liver function is essential.
Avoid use in severe liver impairment.
Report numbness, persistent fever, breathing difficulty, or swelling immediately.
Avoid pregnancy and breastfeeding during treatment.
Avoid live vaccines during therapy.

Adverse Effects

Low blood counts (neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia).
Hair loss.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Peripheral neuropathy (tingling, numbness).
Muscle and joint pain.
Mouth sores.
Rare: severe allergic reactions, heart rhythm disturbances, liver toxicity.
