Description

Napro-Tax (Paclitaxel) is a taxane chemotherapy drug used in breast cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, and Kaposi’s sarcoma. It works by stabilizing microtubules, preventing cell division, and leading to the death of cancer cells.

Precautions

Use only under the supervision of an oncologist.
Premedication with corticosteroids and antihistamines is required to prevent hypersensitivity reactions.
Regular monitoring of blood counts and liver function is essential.
Avoid use in severe liver impairment.
Report numbness, fever, breathing difficulty, or severe fatigue immediately.
Avoid pregnancy and breastfeeding during treatment.
Do not receive live vaccines during therapy.

Adverse Effects

Low blood counts (neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia).
Hair loss.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Peripheral neuropathy (tingling or numbness).
Muscle or joint pain.
Mouth ulcers.
Rare: severe allergic reactions, cardiac issues, liver toxicity.
