Description

Naprocap-500 (Capecitabine) is an oral chemotherapy medicine used in the treatment of breast cancer and colorectal cancer. It is a prodrug of 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) and becomes active inside cancer cells, interfering with DNA synthesis and slowing down or stopping cancer cell growth.

Precautions

Use only under supervision of an oncologist.
Regular monitoring of blood counts, liver function, and kidney function is necessary.
Inform the doctor immediately if you experience severe diarrhea, hand-foot syndrome, mouth ulcers, or unusual bleeding.
Avoid use in severe kidney impairment unless advised.
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Avoid taking antacids frequently as they may affect drug absorption.
Maintain good hydration during therapy.

Adverse Effects

Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.
Hand-foot syndrome (redness, pain, peeling on palms/soles).
Fatigue and weakness.
Loss of appetite and mouth sores.
Low blood cell counts.
Rare: severe skin reactions, liver dysfunction, heart-related side effects.
