What is it used for?
Nebivolol is used mainly to treat high blood pressure. It may also be prescribed for certain heart conditions, including some cases of heart failure, under medical supervision.

How does it work?
It is a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate and reduces the force of the heartbeat, helping lower blood pressure. It may also help blood vessels relax.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop taking it suddenly without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the prescriber or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Headache, dizziness, tiredness, nausea, diarrhoea, and a slow heartbeat may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is asthma or breathing difficulty, a slow heartbeat, low blood pressure, heart block, diabetes, circulation problems, or liver disease. Nebivolol may mask some warning signs of low blood sugar. Seek medical advice for severe dizziness, fainting, breathing difficulty, swelling, or an unusually slow heartbeat. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.
