What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain bacterial infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to cefixime or ofloxacin. The exact infection and suitability depend on the doctor's diagnosis. It does not treat viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
Cefixime stops bacteria from forming their protective cell wall. Ofloxacin blocks enzymes needed for bacterial DNA reproduction, helping stop bacterial growth.

How to take/use it
Take it only as prescribed and follow the instructions on the label. Do not skip doses or stop treatment early, even if symptoms improve. Take with water. Keep antacids and supplements containing iron, calcium, magnesium or zinc separate from this medicine as advised by a doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain, indigestion, headache, dizziness and vomiting may occur.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to cefixime, other cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics, ofloxacin or similar fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Tell the doctor about kidney disease, heart rhythm problems, seizures, tendon problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Avoid driving if dizzy. Seek medical help for severe or persistent diarrhoea, rash or breathing difficulty, tendon pain or swelling, numbness or tingling, or unusual heartbeat.
