What is it used for?
Nicorandil is used to prevent and reduce episodes of angina (heart-related chest pain) caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.

How does it work?
It relaxes and widens the blood vessels, helping improve blood flow to the heart and reducing the heart’s workload.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, usually at regular times. Swallow the tablet with water and do not stop treatment suddenly without medical advice. Do not take an extra dose if one is missed; follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, flushing, weakness and low blood pressure may occur. Headaches are often more noticeable when treatment begins.

Precautions
Do not use with medicines for erectile dysfunction such as sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil, or with riociguat, unless specifically advised by a doctor. Tell the doctor if there is low blood pressure, heart disease or a history of stomach, intestinal, mouth or skin ulcers. Seek medical attention for persistent or unusual ulcers, severe dizziness or fainting.
