What is it used for?
Nimesulide 100 mg is used for short-term relief of pain, swelling and fever, including pain related to muscles, joints or arthritis. It should be used only as directed by a doctor.

How does it work?
It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID) that reduces the production of substances involved in pain, swelling and fever.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably with or after food. Do not use it for longer than advised, and do not take more than the prescribed amount. Avoid taking it with other painkillers or anti-inflammatory medicines unless advised by a doctor.

Common side effects
Indigestion, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Do not use without medical advice if there is liver disease, stomach ulcer or bleeding, severe kidney or heart disease, or an allergy to NSAID painkillers. Avoid alcohol. Stop taking it and seek medical help if yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, unusual tiredness, severe stomach pain, black stools, breathing difficulty or facial swelling occurs. Tell the doctor if pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medicines.
