What is it used for?
Used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever. It may be used for short-term relief of pain with inflammation when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Mefenamic acid reduces the production of substances that cause pain and inflammation. Paracetamol helps reduce pain and fever through a different action.

How to take/use it
Use only as directed by a doctor or pharmacist, as the dose depends on age and weight. Shake the suspension well before use and measure it with an oral syringe or measuring spoon. Do not take it with other medicines containing paracetamol or another NSAID unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or discomfort, diarrhoea, indigestion and dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical advice in children. Tell the doctor about stomach ulcers or bleeding, kidney or liver problems, asthma triggered by painkillers, dehydration, or allergy to NSAIDs. Avoid use with other paracetamol-containing or anti-inflammatory medicines unless advised. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe skin rash, black stools, vomiting blood, or severe abdominal pain. Do not use for longer than recommended.
