Ketoconazole 200 mg

Description:

Nizol Tablet contains Ketoconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal agent belonging to the imidazole class.
It is used in the treatment of fungal infections such as dermatophytosis, candidiasis, and systemic mycoses.
It works by inhibiting fungal cell membrane synthesis, thereby stopping fungal growth.

Warnings and Precautions:

Contraindicated in patients with liver disease or known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole.

Use cautiously in patients taking other hepatotoxic drugs.

Avoid alcohol consumption during therapy due to increased risk of liver toxicity.

Regular monitoring of liver function tests (LFTs) is advised for prolonged use.

May interact with several medicines (e.g., antacids, rifampicin, warfarin, antidiabetics).

Should be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if prescribed.

Not recommended for children unless advised by a physician.

Adverse Effects:

Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort

Headache, dizziness

Skin rash or itching

Elevated liver enzymes

Rarely: severe hepatotoxicity, jaundice
