Composition:
NORATECH Injection contains Noradrenaline (Norepinephrine) as noradrenaline bitartrate equivalent to noradrenaline base, formulated in a sterile aqueous solution for intravenous administration.
Description:
NORATECH is a potent sympathomimetic agent used in the management of acute hypotensive states such as septic shock, cardiogenic shock, and severe hypotension associated with anesthesia. It acts primarily on alpha-adrenergic receptors to cause peripheral vasoconstriction, leading to an increase in systemic vascular resistance and blood pressure, with minimal effect on heart rate. The injectable form allows precise titration and rapid onset of action in critical care settings.
Precautions:
This injection should be administered only under continuous medical supervision with close monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, and tissue perfusion. Caution is required in patients with hypertension, ischemic heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, hyperthyroidism, or diabetes mellitus. Extravasation can cause severe local tissue necrosis, therefore infusion through a central line is preferred. Dose adjustment may be necessary in elderly patients. Concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or certain antidepressants requires caution.
Adverse Effects:
Common adverse effects include hypertension, headache, anxiety, palpitations, and peripheral ischemia. Severe vasoconstriction may lead to reduced organ perfusion, arrhythmias, or tissue necrosis at the injection site. Rarely, bradycardia or reflex slowing of heart rate may occur.
Storage:
Store in a refrigerator at 2–8°C or as directed on the label, protected from light. Do not freeze. Diluted solutions should be used promptly. Keep out of reach of children.
