What is it used for?

It acts like the natural hormone progesterone and helps control the lining of the womb, reducing or regulating bleeding.

How to take/use it
Take this tablet by mouth with water, exactly as prescribed. The dose and treatment duration depend on the reason for use. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Norethisterone is not a contraceptive.

Common side effects
Nausea, headache, bloating, breast tenderness, mood changes, and spotting or changes in menstrual bleeding may occur.

Precautions
Do not take it if pregnant unless specifically advised by a doctor. Tell the doctor about a history of blood clots, liver disease, unexplained vaginal bleeding, hormone-sensitive cancer, migraine, or depression. Seek urgent medical help for chest pain, sudden breathlessness, coughing blood, one-sided leg swelling, severe headache, vision changes, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
