What is it used for?
This medicine is used when prescribed for certain bacterial or protozoal intestinal infections that cause diarrhoea, loose motions or dysentery. Simethicone helps relieve associated gas and bloating.

How does it work?
Ofloxacin and metronidazole act against susceptible bacteria and certain parasites by interfering with their growth and DNA. Simethicone helps break up gas bubbles in the stomach and intestine.

How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed by a doctor. Measure the liquid accurately and shake the bottle well if it is a suspension. Complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve. Do not take antacids or supplements containing iron, calcium, magnesium or zinc at the same time; follow the product label or medical advice for spacing.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, metallic taste, headache, dizziness and gas may occur.

Precautions
Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours afterwards. Tell the doctor about allergies to quinolone antibiotics or metronidazole, pregnancy or breastfeeding, kidney or liver problems, seizures, heart rhythm problems, or use of other medicines. Seek medical help for severe or persistent diarrhoea, rash or breathing difficulty, numbness or tingling, confusion, or tendon pain or swelling.
