What is it used for?
Ofloxacin 200 mg is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections, such as infections of the urinary tract, respiratory system, skin, or digestive system, when prescribed by a doctor. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
It stops bacteria from making essential enzymes needed for their growth and reproduction, helping to clear the infection.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve. Swallow with water. Do not take it at the same time as antacids or mineral supplements containing aluminium, magnesium, calcium, iron or zinc; follow the recommended time gap from the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness and sleep problems may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about allergies to quinolone antibiotics, tendon problems, seizures, kidney disease, heart rhythm problems, or nerve disorders. Seek medical help for tendon pain or swelling, numbness or tingling, severe or persistent diarrhoea, a severe rash, breathing difficulty, or palpitations. Avoid unnecessary sun exposure. Use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in children only on medical advice.
