What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain bacterial and protozoal infections, including some cases of infectious diarrhoea and dysentery. It should be used only when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Ofloxacin stops susceptible bacteria from multiplying. Ornidazole damages the genetic material of certain parasites and bacteria, helping clear the infection.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, with water, and complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve. Do not self-medicate or use it for ordinary diarrhoea without medical advice. Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 3 days after the last dose. Ask a pharmacist about separating antacids or iron, calcium and other mineral supplements from this medicine.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness and a metallic or bitter taste.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding, kidney or liver problems, seizures, nerve problems, or a history of tendon disorders. Stop the medicine and seek medical help for tendon pain or swelling, severe or persistent diarrhoea, numbness or tingling, severe dizziness, confusion, or an allergic reaction. Avoid driving if dizzy or if vision or coordination is affected.
