What is it used for?
Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with one medicine alone. Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and other complications.

How does it work?
Olmesartan relaxes blood vessels by blocking a hormone that tightens them. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, while hydrochlorothiazide helps the body remove excess salt and water through urine.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet with water and do not stop treatment without medical advice. Follow the prescribed monitoring schedule for blood pressure and blood tests.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, tiredness, ankle or leg swelling, increased urination, nausea and stomach discomfort. Changes in kidney function or blood salt levels may also occur.

Precautions
May cause dizziness, especially when starting treatment or after a dose change; rise slowly from sitting or lying down. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, diabetes, gout, dehydration or low blood pressure. Blood pressure, kidney function and electrolytes may need monitoring. Do not use during pregnancy; inform the doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs. Avoid potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised by a doctor.
