What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure when treatment with more than one medicine is needed. Controlling blood pressure helps lower the risk of complications such as heart attack and stroke.

How does it work?
Olmesartan blocks a hormone that narrows blood vessels, while amlodipine relaxes blood vessels. Hydrochlorothiazide helps the body remove extra salt and water through urine, together lowering blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet with water. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Do not take a double dose if a dose is missed; follow the prescriber's instructions.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, tiredness, ankle or leg swelling, increased urination, nausea, and stomach upset may occur. Changes in blood salts or kidney function can also occur.

Precautions
Rise slowly if feeling dizzy, and use caution while driving until the effects are known. Regular blood pressure, kidney function, and blood-salt checks may be needed. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, dehydration, gout, or diabetes. Do not use during pregnancy unless specifically advised; contact a doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs. Inform the doctor about potassium supplements, salt substitutes, lithium, painkillers such as ibuprofen, or other blood-pressure medicines.
