What is it used for?
Olmesartan 20 mg is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It helps lower the risk of complications caused by uncontrolled blood pressure.

How does it work?
It blocks the action of angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels. This relaxes the blood vessels and helps lower blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop taking it without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, nausea, diarrhoea and tiredness may occur. Contact a doctor if side effects are severe or persistent.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, dehydration, or use of potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes. It may cause dizziness, especially when starting treatment. Avoid use during pregnancy unless specifically advised by a doctor. Regular blood pressure, kidney function and potassium monitoring may be recommended.
