What is it used for?
This medicine is used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension). Controlling blood pressure helps reduce the risk of complications such as heart attack and stroke.

How does it work?
Olmesartan blocks the action of a hormone that narrows blood vessels. Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, helping blood flow more easily and lowering blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. It may be taken with or without food. Do not stop it or change the dose without medical advice.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, tiredness, flushing, and swelling of the ankles or feet may occur. Low blood pressure can also occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, dehydration, or heart problems. Avoid potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised. Seek urgent medical help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing. This medicine should not be used during pregnancy unless specifically advised by a doctor.
