What is it used for?
Olmesartan 40 mg with hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), helping reduce the risk of related heart and blood vessel problems.

How does it work?
Olmesartan relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin II. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water from the body, lowering blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. It may be taken with or without food. Do not stop treatment without medical advice. Regular blood pressure checks and blood tests may be recommended.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, tiredness, increased urination, nausea, and changes in blood potassium or sodium levels may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, dehydration, diabetes, gout, or previous reactions to similar medicines. Avoid becoming dehydrated, especially during vomiting, diarrhoea, or excessive sweating. This medicine should not be used during pregnancy; seek medical advice immediately if pregnancy occurs. Report severe dizziness, fainting, swelling of the face or throat, or very little urine promptly.
