What is it used for?
This medicine is used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension). Controlling blood pressure helps reduce the risk of complications such as heart attack and stroke.

How does it work?
Olmesartan relaxes and widens blood vessels, helping blood flow more easily. Chlorthalidone helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water from the body, reducing the pressure inside the blood vessels.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day, with water. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Regular blood pressure checks and blood tests may be needed to monitor kidney function and blood salts.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, tiredness, increased urination, nausea, dehydration, and changes in blood salts such as low sodium or potassium may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, dehydration, diabetes, gout, or previous low sodium or potassium levels. Avoid potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised. This medicine should not be used during pregnancy, especially after the first trimester, unless specifically directed by a doctor. Seek medical advice for severe dizziness, fainting, marked weakness, muscle cramps, or swelling of the face or throat.
