Omec 40 Inj (Vial) Omeprazole 40 Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Omeprazole is used to reduce excess stomach acid and relieve acidity, heartburn and acid reflux. It may also be prescribed for stomach or duodenal ulcers and other acid-related conditions.

How does it work?
It blocks the acid-producing pumps in the stomach, reducing the amount of acid made and helping irritated tissues heal.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed. It is usually taken before food and should be swallowed whole with water; do not crush or chew the capsule or tablet. Do not stop long-term treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, stomach pain, gas, diarrhoea or constipation, and vomiting.

Precautions
Seek medical advice for difficulty swallowing, vomiting blood, black stools, unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting or severe abdominal pain. Tell the doctor about liver disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and all other medicines being taken, especially blood thinners, certain HIV medicines, methotrexate or medicines affected by stomach acidity. Long-term use should be monitored by a doctor because it may affect magnesium, vitamin B12 or bone health.
