OMETECH 40MG VIAL (Omeprazole 40Mg)

Composition:
OMETECH Injection contains Omeprazole 40 mg in a sterile lyophilized form for intravenous administration.

Description:
OMETECH 40 mg Injection is a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells. It is indicated in the management of peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Zollinger–Ellison syndrome, and for the prevention and treatment of stress-related mucosal damage in critically ill patients. The injectable form is especially useful when oral therapy is not feasible.

Precautions:
The injection should be administered under medical supervision. Caution is advised in patients with liver impairment, as dose adjustment may be required. Long-term use may increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, and gastrointestinal infections. Patients should be evaluated for malignancy before initiating therapy, as symptom relief may mask serious conditions.

Adverse Effects:
Common adverse effects include headache, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation. Injection site reactions such as pain or inflammation may occur. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions, dizziness, or electrolyte imbalances have been reported.

Storage:
Store the vial in a cool, dry place below 25°C and protect from light. Reconstituted solution should be used within the recommended time as per manufacturer’s instructions. Keep out of reach of children.
