What is it used for?
Ondansetron is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting, including nausea and vomiting related to medical treatments or surgery.

How does it work?
It blocks serotonin signals in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting.

How to take/use it
Take the prescribed amount using a properly marked measuring spoon or oral syringe. Follow the doctor’s instructions and do not take more or more often than advised.

Common side effects
Headache, constipation, diarrhoea, tiredness and dizziness.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is a history of heart rhythm problems, low potassium or magnesium levels, liver disease, or an allergy to ondansetron. Seek medical help for fainting, a fast or irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, or signs of an allergic reaction. Do not use with apomorphine.
