What is it used for?
Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS) sachets help prevent and treat dehydration caused by diarrhoea, vomiting, or excessive fluid loss. They replace lost water and essential salts.

How does it work?
ORS contains a balanced mixture of salts and glucose that helps the intestines absorb water and electrolytes more effectively.

How to take/use it
Dissolve the entire sachet in the exact amount of clean water stated on the package. Do not use less or more water, and do not add sugar or other ingredients. Sip the prepared solution frequently and use it as directed on the package. Do not prepare it with milk, juice, or fizzy drinks.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, or bloating may occur, especially if the solution is taken too quickly.

Precautions
Incorrect preparation can cause harmful salt or fluid levels. Seek medical help for severe dehydration, persistent vomiting or diarrhoea, blood in the stool, confusion, very little urine, or inability to drink. People with kidney disease, heart failure, or conditions requiring fluid or salt restriction should seek medical advice before use.
