What is it used for?
ORS (oral rehydration solution) powder is used to prevent and treat dehydration caused by diarrhoea, vomiting, or loss of fluids and salts. It helps replace water and essential electrolytes such as sodium and potassium.

How to take/use it
Dissolve the powder in the exact amount of clean water stated on the packet. Do not use less or more water, and do not add sugar or salt. Sip the prepared solution frequently. Prepare it fresh and follow the packet instructions for storage and disposal.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, bloating, or mild stomach discomfort may occur, especially if taken too quickly.

Precautions
Seek urgent medical care for severe dehydration, extreme weakness, confusion, very little or no urine, inability to drink, persistent vomiting, blood in the stool, or diarrhoea that does not improve. Infants, older adults, and people with kidney disease, heart failure, or conditions requiring fluid or salt restriction should use ORS under medical advice. Do not use a solution prepared with an incorrect amount of water.
