What is it used for?
ORS powder is used to prevent and treat dehydration caused by diarrhoea, vomiting, or loss of fluids. It replaces water and essential salts from the body.

How does it work?
It contains glucose and electrolytes that help the intestine absorb water and salts, restoring the body's fluid balance.

How to take/use it
Dissolve the powder in the exact amount of clean drinking water stated on the sachet. Do not use less or more water, and do not take the powder dry. Sip the prepared solution frequently, especially after loose motions or vomiting. Prepare a fresh solution as directed on the pack.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, bloating, or mild stomach discomfort may occur.

Precautions
Use only the recommended amount of water; an incorrectly diluted solution can be harmful. Seek urgent medical care for severe dehydration, persistent vomiting, blood in stools, very little urine, extreme weakness, confusion, or inability to drink. People with kidney disease, heart failure, or conditions requiring restricted salt or fluid intake should seek medical advice before use. Continue breastfeeding and normal feeding where possible.
