Overy L Tabs (50X21Tabs) Levonorgestrel 0.15Mg, Ethinyloestradiol 0.03Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
This combined oral contraceptive is used to prevent pregnancy when taken correctly. It may also help make menstrual bleeding more regular and reduce period pain in some people. It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.

How does it work?
Levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol prevent ovulation and make cervical mucus thicker, making it harder for sperm to reach an egg. They also change the lining of the womb.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and follow the order and instructions in the pack leaflet. Take it at the same time each day. If a tablet is missed, or vomiting or severe diarrhoea occurs, follow the missed-tablet instructions or ask a pharmacist or doctor for advice.

Common side effects
Nausea, headache, breast tenderness, mood changes, and changes in menstrual bleeding or spotting may occur, especially during the first few months.

Precautions
Do not use or start this medicine without medical advice if there is a history of blood clots, stroke, heart disease, migraine with aura, uncontrolled high blood pressure, serious liver disease, or breast cancer. Smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects, particularly in people over 35 years. Seek urgent medical help for sudden chest pain, breathlessness, coughing blood, severe headache, vision changes, or painful swelling in one leg. Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all other medicines, as some can reduce contraceptive effectiveness.
