Oxcatol 300 Tabs (10X10) Oxcarbazepine 300Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Oxcarbazepine 300 mg is mainly used to control seizures in epilepsy, including focal (partial) seizures. It is usually taken regularly as prescribed to help prevent seizures.

How does it work?
It reduces abnormal electrical activity in the brain by affecting sodium channels in nerve cells, helping to prevent seizures.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same times each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet with water. Do not stop taking it suddenly, as this may worsen seizures. If a dose is missed, follow the advice provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, headache, nausea, vomiting, blurred or double vision, difficulty with coordination, and shaking may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney, liver or heart problems, low blood sodium, or an allergy to oxcarbazepine or carbamazepine. Seek medical help for severe rash, swelling of the face or throat, unusual confusion, severe weakness, worsening seizures, or thoughts of self-harm. Oxcarbazepine may reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives. Discuss pregnancy or breastfeeding with a doctor before using it. Avoid driving or alcohol until its effects are known.
