Composition:
Each gram of ointment contains:

Chloramphenicol I.P. 1% w/w

Ointment base q.s.

Description:
P D Col Ointment contains Chloramphenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
It is used topically for the treatment of bacterial skin infections, including boils, infected wounds, burns, and ulcers, and may also be used for bacterial conjunctivitis or blepharitis when applied under medical supervision.

Warnings and Precautions:

For external use only.

Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes, unless specifically prescribed for ophthalmic use.

Discontinue use if irritation, itching, or allergic reactions occur.

Prolonged or excessive use may lead to superinfection or resistance.

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to chloramphenicol.

Adverse Effects:
Mild local irritation, redness, or burning sensation at the site of application.
Rarely, allergic contact dermatitis may occur.

Storage:
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture.
Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.
