What is it used for?
Permethrin Lotion 5% is used to treat scabies, a skin infestation caused by tiny mites. It kills the mites and helps stop the infestation from spreading.

How does it work?
It acts on the nervous system of scabies mites, causing them to die. It also helps kill mite eggs.

How to take/use it
For external use only. Apply to the skin exactly as directed by the doctor or product instructions. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas, and wash hands after applying. Do not apply more often or use for longer than advised.

Common side effects
Temporary itching, redness, burning, stinging, tingling or a mild rash may occur after application.

Precautions
Do not swallow or use near the eyes or inside the mouth. Avoid applying to severely irritated or broken skin unless advised by a doctor. Seek medical advice if symptoms do not improve, become worse, or if severe skin irritation occurs. Ask a doctor before use during pregnancy, breastfeeding or in young children.
