Description:
Piodine Ointment is a broad-spectrum topical antiseptic formulated to prevent and treat infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, and protozoa. It works by releasing free iodine, which rapidly destroys microorganisms and helps cleanse wounds, cuts, abrasions, minor burns, and post-surgical sites. The ointment forms a protective layer over the affected area, promoting safer healing while reducing the risk of secondary infection.
Precautions:
For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes, ears, and mucous membranes. Do not use on large deep wounds or severe burns without medical supervision. Individuals with thyroid disorders, iodine sensitivity, or those taking lithium should consult a doctor before use. Discontinue use if irritation or delayed healing occurs. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use only upon medical advice.
Adverse Effects:
Mild redness, irritation, or temporary staining of the skin may occur. Rarely, allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or swelling may be experienced.
