PIPROPRO-4.5GM VIAL (Piperacillin 4Gm + Tazobactum (0.5Gm)

Composition:

Piperacillin 4 g + Tazobactam 0.5 g per vial

Description:

PIPROPRO-4.5GM Vial contains a combination of Piperacillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, and Tazobactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that enhances the antibacterial activity of Piperacillin. It is used to treat severe bacterial infections including complicated intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and sepsis caused by susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Precautions:

PIPROPRO should be administered under medical supervision. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or beta-lactam antibiotics. Dose adjustment may be necessary in renal impairment. Monitor for signs of superinfection during prolonged therapy. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly indicated by a physician. Inform the doctor about all medications being taken to prevent interactions.

Adverse Effects:

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, and injection site reactions. Rare but serious effects may include hypersensitivity reactions, anaphylaxis, hematological abnormalities, liver enzyme elevation, and Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.

Storage:

Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Reconstitute with the recommended diluent just before use and administer as directed. Use the prepared solution within the recommended time. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
