Piroxel Dt Tab (30X10) Piroxicam 20Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Piroxicam is used to relieve pain, swelling and stiffness in inflammatory joint conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It may also be prescribed for other painful muscle or joint conditions.

How does it work?
It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces the production of substances responsible for pain, swelling and inflammation.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed, usually with or after food and with water, to reduce stomach irritation. Do not take more than prescribed or combine it with other NSAID painkillers unless advised by a doctor.

Common side effects
Indigestion, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness and skin rash.

Precautions
Avoid or use only with medical advice if there is a history of stomach ulcer or bleeding, kidney or liver disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma triggered by painkillers, or allergy to NSAIDs. Seek urgent medical help for black stools, vomiting blood, severe stomach pain, breathing difficulty, facial swelling or a serious skin rash. It may increase the risk of stomach bleeding, kidney problems and heart-related events, especially with long-term use or in older adults. Avoid during pregnancy unless specifically prescribed, particularly from 20 weeks onward and during the last trimester. Tell the doctor about blood thinners, steroids or other medicines being taken.
