What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain bacterial infections. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
Cefpodoxime kills susceptible bacteria by preventing them from forming their protective cell wall. Clavulanate helps protect cefpodoxime from enzymes that can make some bacteria resistant to it.

How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed by a doctor. Prepare the dry syrup exactly as directed on the label or by the pharmacist, shake well before each use, and measure each dose with a proper measuring device. Complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve.

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Do not use if there has been a serious allergy to cefpodoxime, other cephalosporins, penicillins, or related antibiotics. Tell the doctor about kidney disease or previous antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or throat, severe rash, or persistent or bloody diarrhoea.
