What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain bacterial infections when prescribed by a doctor. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
Cefpodoxime damages the bacterial cell wall. Ofloxacin blocks enzymes bacteria need to copy their DNA, helping stop bacterial growth.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day, and complete the prescribed course. Swallow with water and do not take more than directed. Keep antacids or supplements containing aluminium, magnesium, iron or calcium separate from the dose as advised by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache and dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Do not use if there is a known allergy to cefpodoxime, other cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics, or ofloxacin/other quinolone antibiotics. Seek medical help for severe or persistent diarrhoea, rash or breathing difficulty, or pain and swelling in a tendon. Tell the doctor about pregnancy or breastfeeding, kidney disease, seizures, heart rhythm problems, diabetes, or a history of tendon problems. Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizzy or affected. Use only on medical advice.
