What is it used for?
Prednisolone is a corticosteroid used to reduce inflammation and overactive immune reactions in conditions such as severe allergies, asthma, skin problems, joint inflammation and autoimmune disorders. It should be used only for the condition and duration prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
It reduces inflammation and suppresses an overactive immune response.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably with food, and swallow with water. The dose and treatment duration depend on the condition. Do not stop it suddenly, especially after prolonged treatment, unless advised by a doctor.

Common side effects
Indigestion, increased appetite, difficulty sleeping, mood changes, fluid retention, increased blood sugar and increased susceptibility to infections may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, osteoporosis, glaucoma, liver or kidney problems, or any current infection. Avoid close contact with people who have infections and check before receiving vaccines. Seek medical advice if signs of infection, severe stomach pain or major mood changes occur.
