What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve neuropathic pain, which is pain caused by damaged or irritated nerves. It may be prescribed for conditions such as diabetic nerve pain, nerve pain after shingles, or other nerve-related pain. It is not a routine painkiller for ordinary aches.

How does it work?
Pregabalin reduces the release of pain-signalling chemicals in the nervous system, helping calm overactive nerves. Mecobalamin is a form of vitamin B12 that supports normal nerve function.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, with or without food. Swallow the capsule with water. Do not stop it suddenly unless advised by a doctor, as the dose may need to be reduced gradually. Avoid driving or operating machinery until its effects are known.

Common side effects
Sleepiness, dizziness, blurred vision, tiredness, dry mouth, swelling of the hands or feet, increased appetite and weight gain. Mecobalamin may occasionally cause nausea or stomach discomfort.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney disease, breathing problems, heart failure, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Dose adjustment may be needed in kidney disease. Avoid alcohol and inform the doctor about sleeping medicines, opioid painkillers or other medicines that cause drowsiness. Seek urgent medical help for facial or throat swelling, breathing difficulty, severe rash, or unusual mood or behaviour changes.
