Propofol 10 mg per ml

Description:

PROPOTEC Vial contains Propofol, a short-acting intravenous anesthetic agent used for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia, sedation for mechanically ventilated adults, and procedural sedation. Propofol acts on the central nervous system by enhancing the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, producing rapid sedation and hypnosis.

Precautions:

PROPOTEC should be administered only by trained medical personnel under strict monitoring. Caution is required in patients with cardiovascular or respiratory impairment, hypotension, or hypovolemia. Continuous monitoring of vital signs, oxygenation, and airway management is essential during administration. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly indicated and prescribed. Inform the physician about all concomitant medications, particularly CNS depressants, to avoid additive effects.

Adverse Effects:

Common side effects include hypotension, bradycardia, pain on injection, dizziness, and transient apnea. Rare but serious effects include severe respiratory depression, allergic reactions, metabolic acidosis, and cardiac arrest, especially in high-risk or critically ill patients.

Storage:

Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep the vial in the original packaging until use. Use the product immediately after opening. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
