What is it used for?
Rabeprazole injection reduces excess stomach acid. It is used for acid-related conditions such as heartburn, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and stomach or duodenal ulcers, particularly when oral treatment is not suitable.

How does it work?
It is a proton pump inhibitor that blocks the final step of acid production in the stomach, thereby reducing acidity and allowing irritation or ulcers to heal.

How to take/use it
This medicine is given into a vein by a doctor or nurse. It should not be self-administered. The dose and duration depend on the condition being treated and the healthcare professional’s advice.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, and gas may occur. Injection-site discomfort may also occur.
