What is it used for?
Amlodipine 5 mg + atenolol 50 mg is mainly used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be prescribed to help prevent chest pain due to angina.

How does it work?
Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, while atenolol slows the heart rate and reduces the heart’s workload. Together, they help lower blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. It may be taken with or without food. Do not stop it suddenly without medical advice, especially if it is being used for heart-related problems.

Common side effects
Dizziness, tiredness, headache, flushing, ankle swelling, nausea, low blood pressure, or a slow heartbeat may occur.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about asthma or other breathing problems, a slow heartbeat, heart block, heart failure, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, or pregnancy.
