What is it used for?
Ranitidine injection is used to reduce excess stomach acid in conditions such as acidity, heartburn, acid reflux and stomach or duodenal ulcers. It is generally used when treatment by injection is needed.

How does it work?
It blocks H2 receptors in the stomach, reducing the production of stomach acid.

How to take/use it
This injection must be given into a vein or muscle by a healthcare professional. The dose and duration depend on the condition and should be decided by the doctor. It should not be self-administered.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea or constipation may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, previous allergy to ranitidine, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and all other medicines being used. Seek medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, confusion or an irregular heartbeat.
