What is it used for?
Serratiopeptidase is used to help reduce inflammation, swelling and discomfort associated with injuries, surgery and some painful inflammatory conditions. It may also help loosen thick mucus in certain conditions.

How does it work?
It is a proteolytic enzyme that is thought to break down proteins involved in inflammation, which may help reduce swelling and support the removal of inflammatory fluid.

How to take/use it
Take it only as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Swallow the tablet whole with water and follow the instructions on the product label. Do not take more than recommended.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach upset, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort or skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Use cautiously if there is a bleeding disorder, a stomach ulcer, or if taking blood-thinning medicines. Inform the doctor before surgery. Seek medical help for unusual bleeding, severe stomach pain, breathing difficulty or a serious skin reaction. Consult a doctor during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
