Description:

Rifaxitab 200 Tablets contain Rifaximin, a non-absorbable, broad-spectrum antibiotic that acts locally in the gastrointestinal tract.
It inhibits bacterial RNA synthesis, targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative enteric bacteria.
This formulation is indicated for treatment and prevention of traveler's diarrhea, infectious diarrhea, and gut flora imbalances, and may also aid in management of hepatic encephalopathy by reducing ammonia-producing intestinal bacteria.

Warnings and Precautions:

For oral use only.

Avoid in patients with hypersensitivity to rifamycins.

Use with caution in patients with severe liver disease.

Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation unless prescribed.

Not effective for systemic infections due to minimal absorption.

Prolonged or repeated use may cause superinfection with resistant bacteria.

Monitor for allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Nausea, mild abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence.

Occasional: Headache, dizziness, fatigue.

Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions such as rash or itching.

Very rare: Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea with prolonged or repeated use.
