Description:

Rifaxitab 400 Tablets contain Rifaximin, a non-absorbable, broad-spectrum antibiotic that works locally in the gastrointestinal tract.
It inhibits bacterial RNA synthesis, targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative enteric bacteria.
This formulation is indicated for treatment of infectious diarrhea, traveler's diarrhea, and management of gut flora imbalances, including prevention of complications in hepatic encephalopathy by reducing ammonia-producing intestinal bacteria.

Warnings and Precautions:

For oral use only.

Avoid in patients with hypersensitivity to rifamycins.

Use with caution in severe liver disease.

Not recommended for pregnancy or lactation unless prescribed by a physician.

Not effective for systemic infections, as absorption is minimal.

Prolonged use may lead to superinfection with resistant bacteria.

Monitor for allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Nausea, mild abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence.

Occasional: Headache, dizziness, fatigue.

Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions such as rash or itching.
