Description:

Rifaxitab 550 Tablets contain Rifaximin, a non-absorbable, broad-spectrum antibiotic derived from rifamycin.
It acts locally in the gastrointestinal tract to inhibit bacterial RNA synthesis, effectively targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including enteric pathogens.
This formulation is primarily used for the treatment of traveler's diarrhea, infectious diarrhea, and hepatic encephalopathy, as it reduces intestinal ammonia-producing bacteria and improves gut flora balance.

Warnings and Precautions:

For oral use only.

Use with caution in patients with severe liver disease.

Avoid in patients with hypersensitivity to rifamycins.

Not recommended for pregnancy or lactation unless prescribed.

Not effective for systemic infections due to minimal absorption.

Prolonged use may lead to superinfection with resistant organisms.

Adverse Effects:
