Composition:

Each 5 ml of suspension contains:

Ofloxacin IP 50 mg

Metronidazole Benzoate IP equivalent to Metronidazole 120 mg

Simethicone IP 10 mg

Description:

Ronflox-Mz Suspension is a broad-spectrum oral antibacterial and antiprotozoal formulation with anti-flatulent action.

Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a variety of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.

Metronidazole is an antiprotozoal and anaerobic antibacterial agent, effective against protozoa and anaerobic bacteria.

Simethicone acts as an anti-foaming agent, reducing bloating, gas, and abdominal discomfort by dispersing gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract.

The combination is indicated for the treatment of mixed bacterial and protozoal gastrointestinal infections associated with flatulence, bloating, and abdominal discomfort.

Warnings and Precautions:

For oral use only.

Shake well before use.

Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.

Avoid in patients with hypersensitivity to Ofloxacin, Metronidazole, or other nitroimidazoles.

Not recommended for pregnant or lactating women unless prescribed.

Prolonged use may lead to superinfection with non-susceptible organisms.

Monitor for neurological symptoms (dizziness, seizures) with Ofloxacin.

Avoid alcohol during therapy, as it may cause disulfiram-like reactions with Metronidazole.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, headache.

Occasional: Dizziness, taste disturbances, mild skin rash.

Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions, neurological disturbances, tendonitis (with Ofloxacin), or metallic taste.

Storage:

Store below 25°C, in a cool, dry place, protected from light.

Keep the bottle tightly closed.
