What is it used for?
This combination is used to help prevent heart attacks, strokes and other blood-vessel problems in people at cardiovascular risk. Rosuvastatin lowers high cholesterol, while clopidogrel helps prevent harmful blood clots.

How does it work?
Rosuvastatin reduces the liver’s production of cholesterol and lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol. Clopidogrel makes platelets less likely to stick together and form clots.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed and do not stop it without medical advice, especially clopidogrel. Swallow the tablet with water; follow the prescribed schedule and duration. Tell the doctor before any surgery or dental procedure.

Common side effects
Easy bruising or bleeding, nosebleeds, indigestion, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache and muscle pain.

Precautions
Seek urgent medical help for heavy or unusual bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, severe weakness or unexplained severe muscle pain. Inform the doctor about ulcers, bleeding disorders, liver or kidney problems, previous statin-related muscle problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Avoid starting medicines such as painkillers or blood thinners without medical advice, as they may increase bleeding risk.
