What is it used for?
This combination is used to lower high cholesterol and help reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular problems. Clopidogrel helps prevent harmful blood clots, while rosuvastatin reduces cholesterol.

How does it work?
Rosuvastatin lowers the liver’s production of cholesterol and helps remove LDL (bad) cholesterol from the blood. Clopidogrel makes platelets less likely to stick together and form blood clots.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop it without medical advice, especially after a heart procedure or stent. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Bruising or bleeding more easily, nosebleeds, headache, dizziness, indigestion, diarrhoea and muscle aches may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about any history of bleeding, stomach ulcers, liver or kidney disease, or planned surgery or dental treatment. Inform doctors and dentists that clopidogrel is being taken. Seek urgent medical help for unusual or severe bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, severe weakness or unexplained muscle pain. Rosuvastatin should not be used during pregnancy and generally should be avoided during breastfeeding unless specifically advised. Report yellowing of the skin or eyes or dark urine.
