What is it used for?
Used to lower high cholesterol, especially when cholesterol levels are not adequately controlled with diet or a statin alone. It may also help reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people at increased cardiovascular risk.

How does it work?
Rosuvastatin reduces cholesterol production in the liver. Ezetimibe reduces the absorption of cholesterol from the intestine, helping lower LDL (bad) cholesterol.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed and swallow the tablet with water. It may usually be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, muscle aches, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhoea, or constipation.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about liver disease, kidney disease, thyroid problems, or a history of muscle problems. Seek medical advice promptly for unexplained muscle pain or weakness, severe tiredness, or dark urine. This medicine is generally not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Inform the doctor about all other medicines being taken, as some can increase the risk of muscle-related side effects.
